Government of Japan and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) organize “Japan-Africa Public-Private Economic Form” at the Sandton Convention Center, Johannesburg, the Republic of South Africa from 3-4 May 2018.
In August 2016, in Nairobi, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced Japan’s initiative to launch this forum to be held in Africa with a view to accelerating the promotion of private-sector-led economic growth by encouraging networking among Japanese companies and African companies.
This Forum will provide an opportunity for Japanese and African business leaders to highlight their work in Africa and provide an opportunity for enhancing business partnership. Business executives and ministerial representatives from African and Japan are expected to attend.
Plenary and thematic sessions tackling key issues in Africa’s development will form the core program of the forum. It will be accompanied by several side events including business networking.
The Japan fair will be organized concurrently to showcase innovative Japanese technologies that can assist African countries to meet the challenges posed by the new economy as well as shine a spotlight on Japanese company’s work on the continent.
