Our main task is to support SA-Japan relations in the field of Science, Engineering, Technology, and Innovation (SETI), which includes:

To promote participation of South Africa in the S&T events such as: 

Japan-South Africa Partnership Forum
South Africa-Japan University (SAJU) Forum   
Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum 
New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Seminar 
International Science Innovation & Technology Exhibition (INSITE) 
Japan-South Africa Science and Technology Joint Committee Meeting 

    To coordinate academic and industrial R&D collaborations between Japan and South Africa (universities and colleges; research institutes; private sectors; and governmental departments)

To disseminate information (S&T events; research funds; and scholarships, fellowships for doctoral and post doctoral researchers)

    To promote Joint Initiative for Priority Skills Acquisition (JIPSA) programmes

    To chair SADC Southern African Science and Technology Community (SASTeC) Committee Meetings
