Japanese excellence on display in the City of Gold
What comes to mind when you think of Japan? The country represents many things to different
people: ancient ideals, specialty foods, and perhaps a few famous brands. However, many
consumers are only aware of the biggest names in automobiles and electronics when in reality,
a diverse set of products are available to South African consumers.
Top architecture, artistic body painting, fascinating nail art, innovative hair products, the finest in
music technology, home appliances, sportswear, personal computers, outdoor equipment,
cameras, film, electronics, automotive, and more will be highlighted in a unique event to be held
in one of Africa’s most prestigious shopping centres.
Japan Week 2014, to be held inside Sandton City, will showcase all of these products and more
from 26 – 31 March 2014, all under one roof.
The event is sponsored by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), a governmental
agency designed to promote trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world.
Japan Week aims to educate and entertain consumers while also highlighting trade
opportunities and partnerships between the two countries.
